Two Romanians Charged Over Stabbing of Iran International Journalist Pouria Zeraati in London

On December 5, British prosecutors announced that two Romanian nationals, Nandito Badea, 19, and George Stana, 23, have been arrested in Romania and charged over the stabbing of British-Iranian journalist, Pouria Zeraati, outside his home in Wimbledon, London, on March 29. Mr. Zeraati, a presenter for the Persian news organization Iran International, was attacked by a group of three assailants as he approached his car. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that extradition proceedings are underway. The arrests have heightened concerns over threats against journalists in the UK, though authorities have not linked Tehran to the attack.
