National Geographic Team Discovers Andrew Irvine's Remains on Everest After 100 Years
Oct 11, 2024, 09:46 AM
Human remains believed to be those of British explorer Andrew "Sandy" Irvine have been discovered on Mount Everest by a National Geographic documentary team, potentially including 'Free Solo's Jimmy Chin. Irvine disappeared near the summit in 1924 during an expedition with George Mallory to reach the peak. The remains, which include a foot encased in a boot, a name tag sewn into a sock, and a hobnail boot melting out of the ice, were found near the peak. The discovery, reported by National Geographic magazine on Friday, may finally shed light on the century-old mystery surrounding their fateful climb.
