Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson Signs as Defensive Tackle with Buffalo Bills
May 31, 2024, 06:01 PM
Gable Steveson, a renowned college wrestling legend and Olympic gold medalist, has signed with the Buffalo Bills. Steveson, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 275 pounds, is expected to play on the defensive line, specifically as a defensive tackle, a position he has never played before. This move comes after his recent release from WWE earlier this month. Steveson had been linked with a potential move to MMA but ultimately chose to pursue a career in American football. His agent, Carter Chow, confirmed the signing, which was first reported by Adam Schefter. Steveson trained with the Bills during off-season workouts and will now aim to join Bob Hayes as the only athlete to win both a Super Bowl ring and an Olympic gold medal. The Bills also announced the release of punter Matt Haack.
