The move comes as part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking, with French armed forces setting a record for drug seizures in 2024, capturing 48.3 tonnes of drugs. Additionally, Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau reported a historic high of nearly 47 tonnes of cocaine seized over the first 11 months of 2024, doubling the amount from the previous year.
