Florida and North Carolina Secure Major Disaster Declaration, Federal Funds Available Through FEMA
Sep 29, 2024, 03:02 PM
Following Hurricane Helene, the entire Florida Delegation, led by Rep. Neal Dunn, urged President Biden to grant Governor Ron DeSantis' request for a Major Disaster Declaration. The request has been approved, and federal funds will now aid communities in Florida and North Carolina affected by the hurricane's storm surge and flooding. Individual Assistance has been activated for several counties in Florida, including Franklin, Jefferson, Lafayette, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, Manatee, and Hillsborough. Residents and business owners in the designated areas can apply for federal assistance through FEMA.
