Pentagon Rejects Iranian 'Mothership' Claim Amid Mysterious New Jersey Drones
Dec 12, 2024, 04:15 AM
Mysterious drones have been spotted flying over parts of New Jersey for the past 23 days, evading detection by traditional methods such as helicopter and radio, according to state lawmakers briefed by the Department of Homeland Security. The drones, reportedly the size of a sedan and capable of hovering, have appeared over areas including Bergen County, Sandy Hook, Bedminster, and military bases. Flight tracking apps such as FlightRadar24 show no registered aircraft in the area at the time of sightings. Some drones have trailed a Coast Guard vessel and are reportedly knocking other drones out of the sky. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, a Republican, stated in an interview that an 'Iranian mothership' could be responsible for the drone sightings, citing 'very high sources,' and called for the drones to be shot down. However, U.S. defense officials have rejected these claims, with the Pentagon denying that the drones are from an Iranian mothership. The FBI has been unable to determine the origin of the drones, leaving local police struggling to track these nighttime visitors. Lawmakers have expressed frustration at the lack of federal action, with Rep. Anthony D'Esposito stating that the FBI 'didn't have any' answers when questioned. Homeland Security has shared new details about the drone flights, but the situation remains unresolved.
