Engineer Rashid Granted Interim Bail After 5 Years, Vows to Unite Kashmir
Sep 11, 2024, 11:15 AM
Engineer Rashid, the Lok Sabha MP from Baramulla, has been granted interim bail in a terror funding case and has walked out of Delhi’s Tihar jail. Rashid, who spent five years in jail, questioned the abrogation of Article 370 and the continued detention of thousands of people in Kashmir. He vowed to fight for and unite Kashmir's people. PDP spokesperson Mohit Bhan emphasized that bail should be a right, not an exception. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah commented on Rashid's release, suggesting it was politically motivated to divide Muslims. BJP leaders Ram Madhav and Prem Shukla criticized Rashid, labeling him as part of a Pakistan-supporting faction along with Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.
