Elon Musk Eyes Liverpool FC Purchase, Club Leads Premier League and Champions League
Jan 7, 2025, 08:00 PM
Elon Musk has expressed interest in purchasing Liverpool Football Club, according to his father, Errol Musk. In an interview with Times Radio, Errol Musk confirmed that his son would like to buy the club, though he cautioned that this does not mean a purchase is imminent. The interest stems from Musk's family ties to Liverpool, as his grandmother was born in the city and the family has relatives there. Liverpool, currently leading the Premier League and the Champions League, is owned by Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which has not indicated any intention to sell the club. FSG has, however, accepted external investments in the past, such as a minority stake sold to Dynasty Equity in September 2023. Errol Musk also mentioned the family's connection to the Beatles, who grew up with some of his family members, adding a personal dimension to the interest in the club. Liverpool, a six-time European Cup champion, remains a significant asset in the football world.
