Dr. Mark Chavez Pleads Guilty in Matthew Perry's Ketamine Overdose Death
Oct 2, 2024, 07:52 PM
Dr. Mark Chavez, one of two California doctors charged in connection with the overdose death of "Friends" star Matthew Perry, pleaded guilty on Wednesday in a federal court in Los Angeles to conspiring to distribute ketamine. Chavez, 54, admitted to illegally distributing the anesthetic ketamine to Perry by obtaining it through fraudulent prescriptions from his former clinic and a wholesale distributor, and conspiring with Dr. Salvador Plasencia. He could face up to 10 years in prison. Chavez is the third person to plead guilty in the aftermath of Perry's fatal overdose last October.
