San Diego Doctor Mark Chavez Pleads Guilty in Matthew Perry's Ketamine Overdose Death
Oct 2, 2024, 06:41 PM
A San Diego doctor charged in connection with the overdose death of 'Friends' actor Matthew Perry has pleaded guilty to illegally distributing ketamine. Dr. Mark Chavez, 54, appeared in a federal court in Los Angeles on Wednesday and admitted to conspiring to distribute the surgical anesthetic, which has hallucinogenic properties. Chavez signed a plea agreement with prosecutors in August and is the third person to plead guilty in the case following the actor's death last year. He faces up to 10 years in prison as a result of the plea. Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the popular television show 'Friends,' died of an overdose in 2023.
