President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aims to cut $2 trillion in federal spending. The department seeks to streamline government operations by cutting waste, reducing spending, and increasing efficiency. Ramaswamy stated, "We expect mass reductions. We expect certain agencies to be deleted outright." He emphasized that cuts, including reductions among federal contractors, will be implemented through executive action and that people will be surprised by how quickly these changes occur.
