VisitDirecTV and U-Verse Reject Disney's Offer to Air ABC News' Harris-Trump Debate Amid Blackout
Sep 10, 2024, 07:51 PM
DirecTV and Disney are in a contract standoff that has led to a blackout of Disney channels on DirecTV and U-Verse. Despite this, Disney offered to provide a three-hour feed of ABC News coverage for the Kamala Harris-Donald Trump debate to all impacted DirecTV customers at no cost. However, DirecTV rejected this offer, proposing instead to restore all Disney-owned channels for a week, which Disney did not accept. The debate is scheduled to take place tonight and is hosted by ABC News. A spokesman for DirecTV told Reuters that restoring all Disney channels through Monday was their counteroffer.
