MediaTek has officially launched its new flagship mobile chipset, the Dimensity 9400, designed for advanced AI applications and tri-fold smartphones. Built on a 3nm process, the Dimensity 9400 features an octa-core CPU with a clock speed of 3.63 GHz and includes an 8th-generation neural processing unit (NPU) that claims to deliver 80% faster performance for large language model prompts. This new chipset aims to compete with Qualcomm's Snapdragon series for flagship smartphones expected in 2025. The first devices to utilize the Dimensity 9400 will be vivo's X200 series and OPPO's Find X8 series, with Samsung also considering its use in the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. The chipset has achieved an AnTuTu score of over 3 million, indicating significant performance capabilities.
