Davis Thompson Wins John Deere Classic with 28-Under Par, Sets New Scoring Record

Davis Thompson secured his first PGA Tour victory by winning the John Deere Classic. The 25-year-old golfer shot rounds of 63, 67, 62, and 64, finishing with a record-breaking score of 28-under par and a total of 256, setting a new tournament scoring record in the Quad Cities. This win marks Thompson's first career victory on the PGA Tour in his 63rd start. The victory also qualifies him for The Open Championship at Royal Troon and the 2025 Masters. Thompson, a former Georgia All-American and SEC Golfer of the Year in 2021, received a warm reception on the 18th hole.
