'Full House' Star Dave Coulier Reveals Stage 3 Aggressive Lymphoma on 'Today' Show
Nov 13, 2024, 03:26 PM
Actor and comedian Dave Coulier, best known for his role as Uncle Joey on the television series 'Full House,' has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a very aggressive form of blood cancer affecting the lymphatic system. Coulier, 64, announced his diagnosis on Wednesday during an appearance on NBC's 'Today' show, where he shared an emotional hug with host Al Roker. He recounted that his first symptom occurred about a month ago when he developed a cold and noticed a golf-ball-sized lump in his groin that swelled up immediately. 'It felt like I got punched in the stomach,' Coulier said, describing the diagnosis as a 'gut punch.' He added, 'I kind of look like a little baby bird now,' referring to his appearance after starting chemotherapy treatment. Despite the aggressive nature of the cancer, Coulier expressed optimism about his prognosis and stated, 'I'm going to meet this head-on.'
