The approval comes as Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has opted out of a three-state offshore wind initiative, leaving the second Vineyard Wind project uncertain. The SouthCoast Wind farm is notably the last offshore energy project likely to receive authorization under President Biden's administration, with the lease for the project sold during Donald Trump's presidency.
