Kelly Ayotte was sworn in as the 83rd governor of New Hampshire on January 9, 2025, succeeding Chris Sununu. In her inaugural address, Ayotte emphasized her commitment to serving all Granite Staters, regardless of political affiliation, and outlined her priorities for her term. These include addressing the state's housing crisis by streamlining agency approvals to no more than 60 days, expanding school choice, banning cellphones in schools, and implementing no new taxes. She also announced the creation of the Commission on Government Efficiency (COGE), to be led by former Governor Craig Benson and businessman Andy Crews, aimed at cutting government spending and enhancing efficiency.
