Chinese scientists have reportedly cured a 59-year-old man of type 2 diabetes using cell therapy in what is being hailed as a world-first medical breakthrough. The treatment, conducted in China, involved transforming the patient's stem cells into a new form of cell that regulates blood sugar levels. This innovative approach was applied to a patient who had zero pancreatic cell function for over 25 years. The stem cells were planted into the pancreas of the diabetic patient.
