China has witnessed a significant surge in foreign visitors, with 17.25 million inbound trips recorded from January to July 2024, marking a 129.9% increase year-on-year. This rise follows the implementation of transit visa-free policies and other measures aimed at facilitating foreign visits. Additionally, the number of visas issued at ports increased by 182.9% to 846,000. The National Immigration Administration reported these figures, highlighting China's efforts to attract more international tourists. The overall border crossings in China reached 341 million, up 62.34% year-on-year, with tourism expected to boost spending by over 100 billion yuan (US$139.8 billion).
