China has built the largest domestic high-precision GPS network for drone-based powerline inspection using the homegrown BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS). Located in northwest China's Xinjiang, the network includes 591 base stations and has supported the first drone patrol inspection at a 110-kV transformer substation.
