VisitCharles O. Parks III Pleads Guilty in $3.5M Cryptojacking Scheme, Mined Crypto Worth Nearly $1M

Charles O. Parks III, a Nebraska man also known as "CP3O," has pleaded guilty to wire fraud in connection with a multimillion-dollar cryptojacking scheme. Parks defrauded two major cloud computing service providers of more than $3.5 million in resources, which he used to mine cryptocurrencies such as Ether, Litecoin, and Monero. The mined cryptocurrencies were valued at nearly $1 million. Parks created fake LLCs to gain unauthorized access to VIP-level cloud server resources. This case was announced by the Eastern District of New York in collaboration with the NYPD and the FBI.
