Utah Defeats Baylor 23-12 as QB Cam Rising Exits with Hand Injury
Sep 7, 2024, 09:32 PM
In a college football game on Saturday, Utah defeated Baylor 23-12. Utah's quarterback, Cam Rising, left the game in the first half with a right hand injury after colliding into the Gatorade coolers on Baylor’s sideline. Rising, who had injured fingers on his throwing hand, did not return for the remainder of the game and was replaced by Isaac Wilson. Despite Rising's absence, Utah maintained their lead, with notable plays including a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown by Tao Johnson. Utah led 17-0 at the end of the first quarter, extended their lead to 23-0, and were up 23-6 by halftime. Baylor managed to score a 44-yard field goal and a 47-yard touchdown, but it was not enough to overcome Utah's lead. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham later stated that Rising's injury does not appear to be serious and he may return as soon as next week.
