FIA Confirms Cadillac-Andretti as 11th Team in Formula 1 Grid Expansion for 2026
Nov 25, 2024, 08:09 PM
Formula 1 has announced an agreement in principle for General Motors, under its Cadillac brand, to join the championship as the 11th team starting from the 2026 season. The addition of this American team will expand the grid from 20 to 22 cars. The new Cadillac F1 team will initially compete using Ferrari power units until 2028, when they plan to introduce their own engines. Michael Andretti and Mario Andretti are involved in the project, with Dan Towriss having taken over Andretti Global. This marks a significant development in the sport, bringing another US manufacturer into Formula 1.
