This comes after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a law that could ban TikTok starting Sunday, unless its parent company, ByteDance, divests its U.S. operations. Chew emphasized TikTok's role in protecting the constitutional right to free speech for its over 170 million American users. He highlighted Trump's engagement with the platform, noting that Trump's content has generated over 60 billion views. The Biden administration has decided to leave the enforcement of the ban to the incoming Trump administration, with Trump indicating he will review the situation before making a decision. Chew's statement was made in a video posted on TikTok, his first public comment since the Supreme Court's ruling.
