Bruno Silva Suspended Six Months for Likely Unintentional UFC Anti-Doping Violation
Aug 9, 2024, 09:56 PM
Bruno Silva, a UFC fighter, has been suspended for six months due to an anti-doping violation. Silva tested positive for 3a-Hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one, a metabolite of the anabolic steroid drostanolone, which is prohibited at all times. The Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) announced that Silva accepted the sanction, and his period of ineligibility began on April 11, 2024. He will be eligible to return on October 11, 2024. The CSAD determined that the levels of the substance were consistent with contamination, rather than intentional use, and the violation was deemed likely unintentional.
