On Saturday, former President Donald Trump officially announced the nomination of Brooke Rollins, a Texas native and head of the America First Policy Institute, as the next U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Rollins previously served in key roles during Trump's first term, including as Director of the Domestic Policy Council. She would become the 33rd Secretary of Agriculture, leading the department which oversees farm and nutrition programs, food safety, rural development, and trade, with a budget of $437.2 billion. This nomination completes Trump's proposed slate of Cabinet secretaries and requires Senate approval.
