Packers Sign Brandon McManus After NFL Clears Him of Sexual Assault Allegations by Two Women
Oct 16, 2024, 05:57 PM
Brandon McManus, a veteran NFL kicker, has been signed by the Green Bay Packers following the NFL's decision to clear him of any league discipline related to sexual assault allegations by two women. The allegations stemmed from an incident on a Jaguars team flight, but the NFL found insufficient evidence to take action. Packers' General Manager Brian Gutekunst stated, 'I think the league did a really thorough investigation and we leaned on that as we went through it.' Head Coach Matt LaFleur expressed confidence in McManus' ability to perform, noting that he looked great in his first practice and is expected to be ready for the upcoming game on Sunday. LaFleur added, 'There's an expectation he'll be ready on Sunday.' McManus acknowledged the difficulty of the past few months and expressed relief that the civil lawsuit has been resolved. His attorney, Brett Gallaway, confirmed, 'The case has been resolved. I look forward to seeing Brandon play for the Packers on Sunday.'
