Georgia's Raffensperger Urges Musk to Remove Russian Fake Voter Fraud Videos
Nov 1, 2024, 05:18 PM
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has warned about fake videos circulating online that falsely claim to show Haitian immigrants committing voter fraud in Georgia by voting multiple times for Kamala Harris, and another video suggesting that a Harris campaign associate took a bribe from a U.S. entertainer. He stated that these videos are likely foreign interference aimed at sowing discord and chaos ahead of the election, possibly orchestrated by Russian influence actors. Raffensperger has urged Elon Musk and social media leaders to remove the videos from their platforms. U.S. intelligence agencies, including the FBI, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), have confirmed that Russian actors manufactured and amplified the fake videos to undermine confidence in the U.S. election.
