WikiLeaks, in collaboration with supporters and the Project Spartacus initiative, is preserving 76,911 Afghan War Logs by inscribing them onto the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol. These classified documents, which detail U.S. military operations, civilian casualties, and interrogation methods during the Afghanistan conflict, are being archived to ensure their permanent preservation. The initiative aims to safeguard the data against potential attacks on platforms like WikiLeaks or the Internet Archive. The minting process is scheduled to begin on December 12, 2024.
