Base Celebrates 1st Anniversary, Leads Ethereum L2 with 12.42M Daily Transactions
Aug 14, 2024, 01:41 AM
Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, celebrated its first anniversary by achieving significant milestones in the blockchain space. Over the past year, Base has become the most active and second most liquid onchain rollup protocol on Ethereum. It has processed 3.5 million transactions daily on the Ethereum Mainnet, which is 3.5 times the number of raw transactions Ethereum processes. Additionally, Base has reached 3.6 million daily transactions, $0.02 transaction fees, and 600,000 daily users, including 40,000 USDC daily users. The network has also surpassed Arbitrum to become the leading Ethereum L2 network, with a 700% transaction boost in six months. Ethereum's Layer 2 ecosystem, as a whole, has reached a record 12.42 million daily transactions, marking a 140% increase since early 2024. This surge in activity reflects the growing scalability and user engagement within the Ethereum network.
