Jalolov Leads Uzbekistan to Five Boxing Golds at Paris 2024, Becomes Two-Time Super-Heavyweight Champion
Aug 10, 2024, 09:09 PM
Uzbekistan has achieved a remarkable feat at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning five men's boxing gold medals. Bakhodir Jalolov made history by becoming the first boxer to win more than one Olympic super-heavyweight gold medal, defeating Spain’s Ayoub Ghadfa by unanimous decision. This victory marks Jalolov's second consecutive Olympic gold, following his triumph at Tokyo 2020. Jalolov is also 14-0 (14 KOs) as a professional boxer. Abdumalik Khalokov also contributed to Uzbekistan's success by securing the featherweight gold, adding to the country's impressive medal tally. Uzbekistan is the first country to win five boxing gold medals at the same Olympics since Cuba in 2004.
