Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his retirement from international cricket effective immediately. The 38-year-old off-spinner made the announcement following the drawn third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. Ashwin retires as India's second-highest wicket-taker in international cricket, having taken 765 wickets in 287 matches across all formats. In Test cricket, he took 537 wickets in 106 Tests. He also recorded 37 five-wicket hauls and scored 4,394 runs, including six centuries.
