Asheville Lifts Boil Water Notice 53 Days After Hurricane Helene
Nov 18, 2024, 06:59 PM
The City of Asheville has officially lifted its boil water notice as of 11 a.m. on November 18, 2024, after a 53-day advisory period following Hurricane Helene. The advisory, which had been in place since the hurricane devastated the Carolinas in September, was lifted after water resources lab staff confirmed that the water supply is free from contaminants. Residents are advised to cold water flush their pipes if they were built before 1988. Buncombe County Government officials confirmed the advisory was lifted two months after the hurricane.
