Arizona AG Investigates Trump's 'Rifle' Comments on Liz Cheney as Possible Death Threat
Nov 1, 2024, 08:05 PM
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes has initiated an investigation into whether former President Donald Trump's recent comments about former GOP Representative Liz Cheney constitute a death threat under state law. Speaking at an event in Glendale, Arizona, on Thursday night, Trump referred to Cheney as a 'very dumb individual' and a 'radical war hawk,' and suggested, 'Let's put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her.' Mayes stated, 'I have already asked my criminal division chief to start looking at that statement,' noting that such remarks could be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony under Arizona law.
