VisitApple's iPhone Shipments in China Surge 52% to 3.5 Million in April Amid Market Recovery
May 28, 2024, 09:04 AM
Apple's iPhone shipments in China surged by 52% year-over-year in April, reaching 3.5 million units, according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). This increase comes amid a broader recovery in the Chinese smartphone market, which saw a 25.5% rise in total shipments to 22.7 million units in April. Domestic Chinese brands accounted for 20.58 million units, or 85% of the total shipments, while foreign brands, led by Apple, shipped 3.49 million units. The significant growth in iPhone shipments is attributed to a series of price cuts by Apple and its retail partners, which helped boost sales despite competition from local brands like Huawei. Additionally, smartphone shipments rose 10.3% in the first four months of the year. Apple’s market share in China appears to be stabilizing as a result of these efforts.
