Kroger Finalizes $1.37 Billion Opioid Crisis Settlement with 30 States

Kroger has finalized a $1.37 billion settlement with 30 states over its role in the opioid crisis. The settlement addresses allegations that Kroger pharmacies contributed to the opioid epidemic by failing to adequately monitor opioid distribution. Various states will receive significant portions of the settlement, including California, which will receive up to $122 million, Utah receiving $45 million, Arizona up to $68.5 million, Arkansas $30 million, and Nevada $26.7 million. The settlement is part of a broader effort by state attorneys general to hold companies accountable for their role in the opioid crisis.
