DOJ Sought 27-Months: Jacquelyn Starer Sentenced to Nine Months for Assaulting Officer During Capitol Riot
Sep 5, 2024, 10:23 PM
Jacquelyn Starer, a physician from Ashland, MA, has been sentenced to nine months in prison for her involvement in the January 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. Starer was found guilty of assaulting law enforcement, including striking an officer with her closed fist. In addition to her prison sentence, she will serve two years of supervised release and has been ordered to pay $4,000 in restitution and fines. The Department of Justice had sought a 27-month prison sentence, arguing that Starer aggressively pushed rioters to the front of the crowd and verbally abused officers.
