Biden Campaign Criticized for Providing Pre-Approved Questions to Radio Hosts Post-Debate
Jul 6, 2024, 08:11 PM
The Biden campaign has come under scrutiny for providing pre-approved questions to radio hosts for interviews with President Joe Biden. This practice was highlighted by several sources, including a host from 'The Source' on WURD in Philadelphia, who admitted that the president’s aides provided her with a list of eight questions to choose from. The White House's approach has been criticized as political sleight of hand, with some commentators arguing that it undermines the authenticity of the interviews. In response to the backlash, a Biden campaign source stated that while interview hosts have always been free to ask whatever questions they please, the campaign will no longer offer suggested questions moving forward, according to CNN. This decision follows revelations that the campaign fed questions to hosts for interviews conducted after last week's debate. Milwaukee radio host Earl Ingram also confirmed receiving exact questions to ask Biden.
