Russia's FSB Expels Six British Diplomats in Moscow Over Espionage Accusations
Sep 13, 2024, 07:16 AM
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has revoked the accreditation of six British diplomats in Moscow, accusing them of espionage and subversive activities, Interfax reports. The diplomats, whose names include Jessica Davenport, Callum Andrew Duff, Grace Alvin, Catherine McDonnell, Blake Pattel, and Thomas John Hickson, have been expelled from the country. The FSB claimed their actions threatened Russia's security and were part of efforts to escalate political conflict. The UK Foreign Office has dismissed these accusations as 'completely baseless,' stating that the diplomats' accreditation was revoked last month following actions taken by the UK government in response to Russian state-directed activity across Europe and in the UK.
