Canadian Labour Minister Seamus O'Regan to Resign from Cabinet Thursday, Not Seek Re-Election in 2025
Jul 18, 2024, 04:08 PM
Canadian Labour Minister Seamus O'Regan is set to announce his resignation from the cabinet and will not seek re-election in the next federal election. Multiple sources, including CTV News and CBC News, have confirmed that O'Regan will remain an MP for the remainder of his term. This decision makes O'Regan the 16th Liberal MP under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to declare that he will not run for re-election. The announcement is expected to be made as early as Thursday, and he will step down from his cabinet role effective Friday. O'Regan will not be running in 2025.
