Amari Cooper Traded from Browns, Scores in Bills' 34-10 Win Over Titans
Oct 20, 2024, 06:50 PM
The Buffalo Bills have acquired veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a third-round draft pick. Cooper, a former Pro Bowl receiver, is expected to bolster the Bills' offense and provide quarterback Josh Allen with a much-needed playmaker. Josh Allen expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, "I think he can help us a lot." Bills' General Manager Brandon Beane was attracted by Cooper's ability to generate separation, a key asset for the team's passing game. Cooper made his debut for the Bills against the Tennessee Titans and made an immediate impact despite participating in only 34% of offensive snaps. He caught four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown, leading the team in receiving yards. His first catch as a Bill was a 12-yard touchdown reception from Josh Allen, which gave Buffalo their first lead of the game. The Bills went on to secure a decisive 34-10 victory over the Titans. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and quarterback Deshaun Watson wished Cooper well, with Watson referring to him as "my brother" and highlighting his contributions both on and off the field. Stefanski acknowledged that trading Cooper was disappointing but noted, "It opens up opportunities for other guys."
