IDF Confirms Killing Al-Jazeera Journalist, Hamas Operative in Gaza
Aug 1, 2024, 06:03 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Ismail al-Ghoul, an Al-Jazeera journalist, was killed in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip. The IDF stated that al-Ghoul was a member of Hamas' elite Nukhba unit and participated in the October 7 massacre. Al-Ghoul was reportedly involved in recording and publicizing attacks against IDF troops and instructing other operatives on how to record operations. The IDF and Shin Bet conducted the operation that led to his elimination yesterday. Al-Jazeera has faced criticism for allegedly employing individuals with ties to terrorist organizations.
