Boulder Jury Finds Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa Guilty of 10 Counts of Murder in 2021 King Soopers Mass Shooting
Sep 23, 2024, 07:44 PM
A jury in Boulder, Colorado, has found Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa guilty of 55 crimes, including 10 counts of first-degree murder, in connection with the March 22, 2021, mass shooting at a King Soopers supermarket on Table Mesa Drive. The verdict was reached on Monday after jurors deliberated over the weekend. Alissa, diagnosed with schizophrenia, was accused of carefully planning the attack, which resulted in the deaths of 10 people, including a police officer. Prosecutors argued that despite his mental illness, Alissa knew his actions were wrong. The defense's plea of not guilty by reason of insanity was rejected by the jury.
