VisitCMS Invests $100M in Navigators for ACA Enrollment
Aug 26, 2024, 07:08 PM
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a significant investment of $100 million to support 44 Navigator organizations as part of the Biden-Harris administration's effort to enhance access to healthcare coverage. This funding is aimed at assisting consumers, particularly in underserved communities, to find affordable and comprehensive health coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Medicaid. This initiative marks the first round of a planned $500 million investment over the next five years. The Navigator program, which had its funding drastically reduced by 84% under the Trump administration, has seen a resurgence under the current administration. Furthermore, CMS has taken action against fraudulent enrollment practices by suspending 200 brokers involved in scams. The investment also builds on record breaking marketplace enrollment.
