Aaron Rodgers Throws 500th, 501st, 502nd TDs; Joins Elite Club, Passes Marino-Clayton with Adams
Jan 5, 2025, 10:29 PM
Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the New York Jets, threw his 500th career touchdown pass during the game against the Miami Dolphins, becoming the fifth player in NFL history to reach this milestone. The touchdown pass to tight end Tyler Conklin gave the Jets a 7-6 lead. Rodgers joins Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539), and Brett Favre (508) in the exclusive 500-touchdown club. He reached the milestone in his 248th career game, making him the second-fastest after Manning (244 games). In what could be his final NFL game, Rodgers added two more touchdown passes, bringing his career total to 502. His 501st touchdown was a 13-yard pass to wide receiver Allen Lazard, extending the Jets' lead to 15-6 after a successful two-point conversion. The 502nd touchdown was an off-platform pass to wide receiver Davante Adams, marking their 83rd touchdown connection. This surpasses Dan Marino and Mark Clayton (82) for the third-most quarterback-wide receiver touchdown combinations in NFL history. Rodgers has recorded at least 25 touchdown passes in 14 seasons, tying for the third-most in NFL history. The entire Jets offense celebrated Rodgers' milestone, with Conklin handing the ball to Rodgers after his 500th touchdown pass.
