Philip Zimbardo, the psychologist renowned for leading the controversial Stanford Prison Experiment, has passed away at the age of 91 on Mon. Zimbardo's work sought to understand the dynamics of good and evil from a scientific perspective. Despite the criticism and later debunking of the 1971 experiment, which was fully scrutinized between 2016 and 2019 after Stanford digitized all related film and audio records, Zimbardo remained a significant figure in psychology.
