Jul 22, 2024, 08:10 PM
Abdul 'Duke' Fakir, the last surviving original member of the legendary Motown group the Four Tops, has died at the age of 88. Fakir, who was known for hits such as 'Reach Out, I'll Be There' and 'Standing in the Shadows of Love,' passed away on Monday in Detroit due to heart failure, just two days after retiring. The Four Tops, co-founded by Fakir, were one of Motown's most popular and enduring acts, achieving 17 Top 20 singles from 1964 to 1973, including the chart-topping classics 'I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)' and 'Reach Out I'll Be There.' Fakir's death marks the end of an era for the iconic group.
