A bridge connecting the states of Tocantins and Maranhão in Brazil collapsed on Sunday along the BR-010 highway, causing at least one death and leaving two people missing. The Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira bridge links the municipalities of Aguiarnopólis (TO) and Estreito (MA). The bridge gave way while vehicles were crossing, sending three trucks plunging into the Tocantins River. The governor of Tocantins, Wanderlei Barbosa, confirmed the fatality and stated that rescue teams, including divers, have been dispatched to the scene. A local councilor, Elias Junior, captured the moment of the collapse on video while recording the bridge's deteriorating condition.
