Richard Perry, a renowned record producer known for his work with artists such as Carly Simon, Ringo Starr, and Rod Stewart, has died at the age of 82 in Los Angeles. Perry, who suffered cardiac arrest, was a recipient of the Grammys Trustee Award in 2015. His career spanned several decades, producing hits like Carly Simon's 'You're So Vain,' Rod Stewart's 'The Great American Songbook' series, and Ringo Starr's album featuring all four Beatles. Perry's influence extended across genres, with notable productions for Barbra Streisand, The Pointer Sisters, and Harry Nilsson among others. He was also known for his personal relationships, having dated Jane Fonda and being a close friend to many in the music and entertainment industry. Perry had been battling Parkinson's disease and founded Planet Records in 1978. Friend Daphna Kastner remembered him as a generous and fun individual.
