Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Faces Allegations in Rs 3,800 Crore MUDA Land Scam Involving Wife
Jul 6, 2024, 06:31 AM
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing allegations of involvement in a major land allotment scam. The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) is accused of illegally transferring plots worth over Rs 3,800 crores to the name of Siddaramaiah's wife. The BJP has criticized Siddaramaiah, claiming the order for the allotment was passed during the BJP's tenure. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has called the situation a 'huge scam.' Additionally, former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has urged Siddaramaiah to seek the same compensation for farmers as he is seeking for his wife. The land in question, owned by Siddaramaiah’s spouse Parvati, was denotified in 1998 but allegedly encroached upon by MUDA. The BJP has sniffed a Rs 4,000 crore scam in the allotment.
